For Physicians

We recognize and appreciate the significant role that physicians play in the lives of people with rare diseases. They are a cornerstone of the community that treats and supports patients.

With medical information, grant opportunities, educational resourcesand treatment options, we aim to further their efforts on behalf of patients.

We are committed to partnering with all clinical practitioners — doctors, nurses, administration, clinical researchers — who support and treat people with rare disease.

We focus on building trusted relationships with these extended teammates, each of whom lends mission-critical insight enabling better understanding and care for patients.

We aim to further their efforts through providing educational resources, diagnostic tools, grant opportunities and research collaborations.

For more than a decade, we’ve forged new paths for gene therapies.

We custom design each of our investigational therapies with the goal of addressing the underlying cause of disease at the genetic level. We are currently developing gene therapies for severe genetic diseases and are advancing research to apply new technologies to these and other diseases. More than 170+ patients have received our therapies across 8 clinical trials.

We seek diversity, yet fly as one

We are a flock who take bold risks and collaborate with a broad community to help improve the lives of patients and families. We pride ourselves on a unique, caring, inclusive culture that helps each of us be our best every day. Honesty, respect, and a genuine commitment to access, equity and inclusivity find their way into everything we do.

Our collaboration strategy

Our mission is pursuing curative gene therapies to give patients and their families more bluebird days. We continue to develop gene therapy technologies and capabilities such as our lentiviral platform to further their application within and beyond our core indications.

We are actively seeking collaborators and licensing opportunities to explore the therapeutic potential of our technologies in new diseases.

Patient advocacy

Patient advocates and advocacy organizations are instrumental in helping us connect with and learn from the community. We are committed to building and sustaining trusting relationships and collaborations with advocates around shared goals to drive change for the communities we serve. These relationships also enable the integration of the patient and caregiver perspective throughout the nest to inform decisions made at bluebird bio.
